Davidson County Child Care Landscape Study: Funding Announcement

Funding secured for Davidson County Child Care Landscape Study

We are excited to announce we have received full funding for Phase II and III of our Davidson County Child Care Landscape Study. Funding for the study comes from the Nashville Metropolitan Council Women's Caucus, and was included in the recently approved Metro budget. You may see it listed in the press as “childcare study.”

We are grateful to the Women’s Caucus for recognizing and supporting the need for critical data specific to Davidson County that will inform strategies to improve our child care systems.

Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University will continue to be our research partner for the study, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to continue our work with them. In these additional phases, the Policy Impact Center research team will be collecting and analyzing information about child care supply and demand that is currently not publicly available. The research scope of this study will allow us to have a clear understanding of the true needs of our communities and be more strategic in meeting those needs.

Phase I of the study was completed in March, 2024. We invite you to download and review the Executive Summary for Phase I and learn more about what’s ahead.
